Name: Adam Squires Jarrett
Age: 17, I was born on Feb. 12, 1981 (Also Abe Lincoln's birthday for anyone that cares)
Birthplace: Camp Hill, Pa
Pets: one dog named Spirit, she's a whippet
Instruments and Effects I Own and Love: Fender Mustang, Seagull Acoustic Guitar - got it for my sixteenth birthday and I totally love its warm sound, Peavey Falcon - it was my first guitar, and even though its not the best, I decided that I'd always keep it, Boss effect pedals - I will always back up these pedals 100 percent. I love them, not only for their sound, but for their sturdiness and because of the fact that they're not corny pedals like DOD. I own a Turbo Distortion II and the Octave pedal, which by the way is the best octave pedal I've ever heard yet, MXR pedals - I love these pedals because they're so simple, and yet they kick mad ass. I've tried the Dyna Compressor, and the Phase 100. I own the Phase 90 though, Jim Dunlop Crybaby - I've played and heard better wah-wah's before, but for now this pedal serves my purposes.
Hobbies: music, Star Wars, aggressive inline, pottery, poerty, CD collection (especially 311 and Weezer), collecting every episode of the Simpsons ever made, and art
Influences:
- Tim Mahoney
- I've been studying his guitar playing for a while now, and I must say I've been stumped quite a few times. I just recently decoded his approach to modes, which was a headache in itself. Every new solo or riff I learn, I begin to realize more and more of how much of a musical genuis he really is. I'd say he's one of the most overlooked modern guitar players.
- Carlos Santana
- Of course, how could anyone forget Carlos? The godfather of World music, and a creator of good fucking music. I'd like to think of his relations with Tim M. as my relations with Tim. Tim learned from Carlos, and I'm learning from Tim. So in a way, you could say that I'm learning from Carlos.......?
- Tom Morello
- Yet, another guitar player without the proper recognition. Wait a second though...he's more than a guitar player, he's an "inventor." What's this?...this mofo can turn a guitar into a fucking turntable?!?! He can make music, when the cord is out of his guitar, you say?!?! This man most definitley, plays his guitar. And more than inventing his own, techniques, he can really play the guitar, which lacks most in today's "alternative" scene. Rage wouldn't be what it is without this prodigy, and that's a fact.
- Ben Plesic
- Many may not recognize this name, but it is my belief that the world will someday come to know and love this person. The saxophone is his forte and he has been a big inspiration for me as far as teaching me advanced music theory goes. He is my 24 hour question and answer service.
- Sonny Bono
- This is a man I definitly wish I would have gotten to meet. Hell, he lived about twenty different lifes, whether it be an actor, a songwriter, a mayor, a congressman, you name it. But what inspires me the most was his will to succeed. I wish I had his determination, well someday, I might have it. He never cared to stop and think about what others thought about him. He was just doing his own thing, and that is why I send out much respect to him up above. Wadup, up there? Peace, bro!
- Kurt Cobain
- Not so much today as back then, but he definitly (like so many others) introduced me into the world of fun and exciting joyrides called alternative music. Of course there were many before him that I adored, no one grabbed my attention as much as this man did. Although today, I can sadly say, that my attraction for alternative, scream till your lungs drop out your asshole, smash your five dollar guitar, music has steadily disappaited.
- Andrew, Josh, Mike, and Tom
- Well, what would I be without these guys? What can I say, except I love every one of them. I enjoy making music with them, because in the end, it all works out, and there's nothing more beautiful than making music that everyone contributed to. Five guys with a dream, and load of farts that will implode your lungs.........
